Yahoo! may have signed a new carrier up to its mobile search
offering this week, but Google has gone one better signing the world's
largest mobile phone maker up to its service. The two have announced at
GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelonathat Google's search engine
will be integrated with the Nokia Search application.

service to complement its Yahoo!oneSearch offering. The unified messaging platform, Yahoo! oneConnect brings a number of Yahoo! and other services into a single point for mobile users.

Nokia has not only introduced a new personal
navigation phone at this year's Mobile
World Congress in Barcelona, it has used the event to launch a total
revamp of its mapping and navigation offering that improves navigation
for pedestrians and adds satellite images to the maps.

Just as mobile phone makers are experimenting with GPS phones ahead
of a mass market roll-out of personal navigation and the location-based
services that they will bring, GPS manufacturers are equally well
positioned to encroach on the mobile phone market dominated by the
likes of Nokia, Motorola, Samsung and Sony Ericsson.
