The latest in
Fujitsu Australia's Lifebook range is the newly released P8010 which
the company is billing as the "must have" notebook for 2008. It may not
be as slim as Apple's 13.3-inch MacBook Air, but at least you will get
a built-in optical drive with the 12.1-inch LifeBook P8010. You will
also get Ethernet and more than one USB port, too.

Sony Ericsson has announced the W890i phone is now available in
Australia and has tagged it with a RRP of A$899. Though the company
announced the next generation Walkman W980 last month it is likely to
be at least six months before that model is available locally.

Vodafone
has announced it has extended the retail and
wholesale partnership with mobile phone retailer Crazy John's. Vodafone
scored the business originally after the phone retailer fell out with
previous partner Telstra.

Motorola and Optus Communications have teamed up to launch of
Screen3 a service already available over seas which pushes content
direct to the home screen of Motorola phones. The content service
will be available on all RAZR2 V9 and KRZR1 handsets
connected to the carrier.

Vodafone has selected Ericsson as the primary vendor for its roll-out of a national High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) broadband network and has given it until the end of the year to complete the job. Ericsson is the primary equipment supplier to Telstra which also rolled out its NextG 3G network in record time.

Apple has announced
plans to open the iPhone to third party developers as a platform giving
the industry a sneak peak at the version 2.0 software it will release
in June that will incorporate an iPhone SDK (Software Development Kit)
and a set of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces that will allow
developers to build software to run on the iPhone and iPod Touch
hardware.
