Apple has expanded its notebook range adding a new formfactor that
takes advantage of the sort of miniaturisation found in its iPod and
iPhone devices to deliver what it claims is the world's slimest
notebook at 0.76 inches.

Motorola, has released a Bluetooth Adapter for the iPod to allow music
fans to enjoy wireless Bluetooth headphones like the MOTOROKR S9
Bluetooth stereo headset. Previously the company only offered the
Motorola S705 Soundpilot bundle which includes a dongle with wired
earplugs.

It's
taken a long time, but it seems Lenovo is ready to leverage it's
acquisition of the IBM personal systems group to expand its consumer
offering in the notebook space. Until now the company has outinued with
IBM's famously successful business notebook range, the ThinkPad. It
first released the Lenovo 3000 series for the business market, but
until now has done little to try to expand this base to make an
aggressive push into the consumer market.

With the re-invigorated HP streaking even further ahead of it, Dell which reviously would only sell direct to customers rather than through the channel, is in the process of launching a program
that will see its products offered by resellers and solutions
providers. While the company has toyed with the idea on and off for
many years, significant market advances by Hewlett Packard under the
leadership of CEO Mark Hurd and the rise and rise of Acer (which
recently hit the number two spot in PC sales according to at least one
research organisation), Dell has to do something to remain competitive
and stay in the game.

clutch of Windows mobiles from i-mate will focus on customisation and
security says the company who announced four new devices for
availability in Australia early next year. The
two new devices from the Ultimate range and two from the JAMA ranges
are the Ultimate 6150, Ultimate 8150, JAMA 101 and JAMA 201.

Total revenue from handset semiconductors will exceed US$31 billion
worldwide this year says research firm In-Stat. While all the news
might be about GPS, HSDPA and WiFi, the researcher says one of the more
popular cell phone features is Bluetooth.
