Huawei bean counters have done their numbers and found that the company's CDMA
revenues jumped 30 per cent in 2006. Rising on the back of a customer
base that now supports 60 million mobile phone users, the Chinese networking company says it signed 16 CDMA2000 1xEV-DO commercial contracts in 2006.

the industry number cruncher, converged mobile smartphones pushed past
the 20 million unit mark in the fourth quarter of 2006 and past the 80
million unit mark for the year.

People Telecom must have done a great deal last month when it re-signed
with Optus Commuinications to supply wholesale mobile phone services
for the virtual network operator - People has just announced that it
has cut its mobile phone rates by up to 40 per cent.
