Dell Adds A Splash Of Inspiron |

Somewhat famous for its stock standard corporate computers (at least they were never beige), it was perhaps the
acquisition of Alienware last year that prompted the designers at Dell
to lose their inhibitions and dream up the pink Inspiron.
The new colorful range of laptops were announced gloablly as part of a launch which also included the release of new dekstop PCs and a new high-end gaming laptop - the XPS M1330.
The colorful additions to Dell's product lineup will also be backed by a new consumer marketing
campaign - Yours is Here, www.dell.com/yoursishere. In the announcement Dell describes the new campaign as a "vivid" and "eye-catching".
The new laptop range seeks to spice up the company's Inspiron line of mobile computers by adding a colorful range of casings. The new color choices include Ruby Red, Midnight Blue, Jet
Black and the aforementioned Flamingo Pink and Sunshine Yellow. In all there are ten colors in the range.
"We've packed these new
Inspiron and XPS systems with features like mobile broadband,
widescreen displays and colors choices to help customers experience the
high definition lifestyle they seek," said Alex Gruzen, senior vice
president for Dell Consumer Products.
"Customers also tell us they want
great design and performance and we have responded with the new XPS
M1330, the world's thinnest 13-inch notebook."
The new XPS M1330 is claimed to be the world's thinnest 13.3-inch notebook. With
a starting weight of 3.97 pounds , the .9 inch thin
XPS M1330 features cutting-edge design elements and a durable magnesium
alloy chassis with brushed aluminum accents. XPS customers only get the choice of three colors: Tuxedo Black, Pearl
White or Crimson Red.
Other new products on offer are
Inspiron 530, 530s and 531, 531s desktops and on the laptop side, the company introduced new dodels at all three screen sizes - the Inspiron 17-inch 1720 and 1721, the 15.4-inch Inspiron 1520 and 1521 and the 14.1 inch Inspiron 1420.
THe company also announced new 19-inch and 24-inch widescreen flat panel displays.
"Getting to know
customers is what we do best," said Zita Cassizzi, vice president of
Dell's consumer marketing. "Taking their feedback, putting it to work,
and delivering the devices consumers want most is reflected in these
new products. As our new campaign says: Yours is Here."
The new range features desktops and
notebooks with widescreen displays for all and optional mobile broadband the notebook portfolio and Wi-Fi
on the desktops.
