At under 2kg and under A$3K, the Fujitsu LifeBook T4220 convertible tablet is destined to make a lot of mobile professionals happy.

The successor to Fujitsu's LifeBook T4215 is a new 12.1-inch XGA display tablet PC that will find itself on the road with healthcare professional, sales executives, financial and insurance brokers and the like.

Anybody with a need to work collaboratively on documents, make presentations to small groupe of one or three people, or carry forms and documents around all day, will be thankful this device weighs in at less than 2 kilograms in standard configuration.

If you don't mind a little weight and a being without an optical drive you can use the multipurpose bay as a battery for extended use on the move. The bay is hot swappable so there's no need to power down the device if you decide you need to add the battery once you're up and running. Just keep the extra battery in your bag till you need it.

The LifeBook T4220 is powered for professionals with a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (T7300) procesor that will push through large databases, highly numeric, or graphic intensive applications with relative ease.

The bi-directional hinge which first appeared in the LifeBook T4215 is here again in the T4220 making it much more comfortable to do those presentations as it offers a range of screen positions that will ensure everybody can see.

All you have to do each time you need to share data with a potential client, classmate or teacher, is to just swivel your screen in the direction they're seated. No more hassle of re-arranging seating positions or twisting your torso for better clarity and visuals.

The device is designed with secrty in mind. A fingerprint recognition unit provides security and ease of access to your data while the T4220 also has built-in safety measures like BIOS Lock, Hard Disk Lock, LifeBook Lock, Smartcard Support and Anti-Theft Lock slot bar prying eyes from any confidential information.

To safeguard the data on thehardsik from accidental bumps and vigrations, the T4220 tablet PC comes with a 3-axis shock sensor that will park the heads on the disk drive if it suspects a big shock is on the way.
