Spec Check: Toshiba Satellite U305

Page 1 of 2 Toshiba has added a new 13.3-inch diagonal widescreen form factor in the Satellite U300/U305 notebook range that combines mobility, power and price in a way that's sure to interest a broad spectrum of consumer buyers. Toshiba says the U305 series notebooks are ideal for students and small business owners and it has spec'd and priced the units accordingly. The Satellite U305-S5107 features an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5300 with 160GB hard disk drive and 2048MB of memory for US$1,149. The Satellite U305-S5127 has the T7100 Core 2 Duo teamed with the Intel 965 chipset at a starting price of US$1,399. The form factor weighs in at around two kilograms, comes with a DVD SuperMulti drive, Intel Turbo Memory, a built-in 1.3 megapixel video conferencing Webcam and microphone and up to 200GB SATA hard drives. The Satellite U305-S5127 is the only model to incorporate Intel Turbo Memory, a technology that enhances battery life, reduces boot time and speed application launch and return from hibernation. Similarly Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN supporting draft 802.11n WiFi comes on two of the models with standards-based 802.11b/g/ on the entry level model. The Satellite U305-S5097. This configuration incorporates an Intel Pentium dual-core processor and a generous 160GB hard disk drive for US$899. Both the Satellite U305-S5127 and the Satellite U305-S5107 incorporate Bluetooth v.2.0+EDR technology to connect with Bluetooth devices, such as cell phones, PDAs and other wireless accessories.
