D-Link Boosts Draft N Range Print E-mail

Network hardware supplier D-Link has increased its product range of 802.11 Draft N adapters introducing a solution for the smaller form factor ExpressCard slots, a desktop PCIe adapter and a regular USB solution.



D-Link claims in now offers the broadest range of draft N 2.0 Wi-Fi adapters available in Australia and New Zealand. ANZ Marketing Director, Maurice Famularo said: "Combined with improved performance of draft 11n wireless technology and support for the latest version 2.0, our newest Draft N adapters deliver fast connections and improved throughput for running bandwidth intensive applications such as streaming media and online gaming.

"Our new ExpressCard and PCIe adapters provide further support to our customers who are purchasing the latest computers to hit the market, either desktop or laptop. Both bring wireless connectivity to the next level, allowing users to enjoy the best network performance possible," said Famularo.

The D-Link Xtreme N Notebook ExpressCard (DWA-643) for notebooks uses the smaller slots equipped on the newer-generation notebooks and desktops are designed for all future industry-standard wired and wireless ExpressCards and PCIe adapters, says the company. For those without express card, D-Link has a regular USB connector on the DWA-140 RangeBooster N USB adapter and for desktops the DWA-556 Xtreme N PCI Express (PCIe).

Both the Xtreme N Notebook ExpressCard and Xtreme N PCI Express desktop adapters have also achieved 'Connect with Intel Centrino certification to ensure compatibility and interoperability with Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N.

The DWA-556, DWA-643 and DWA-140 are all now available immediately. Australian pricing is as follows. The DWA-556 PCIe and DWA-643 ExpressCard wireless adapters are priced at A$159.95 RRP, while the regular USB-based DWA-140 is A$139.95.
