Against a backdrop of lesser carrier back biting over termination charges, Telstra has introduced an incentive for pre-paid customers to receive calls, offering them 5 cents a minute.
The marketing ploy is only available to pre-paid mobile customers and is limited to $50 per month in mobile credit. The offer is available to all NEW pre-paid customers, and existing pre-paid customers who CHOOSE to take it up.
Credit can be earned from calls received from any phone service - be that a mobile, land line or payphone. Telstra has also extended its one cent per minute rate (plus 25c call connection). This offer is now available for the first 10 minutes of a call all day on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as from 9pm to 7am every evening to any Australian mobile number.
The company is planning a TV, press and radio campaign blitz to promote the offering and hopes the 5 cents per minute rebate will be a powerful incentive for Australia's pre-paid mobile customers to join Telstra. www.telstraprepaidplus.com
