A new clutch of Windows mobiles from i-mate will focus on customisation and security says the company who announced four new devices for availability in Australia  early next year. The two new devices from the Ultimate range and two from the JAMA ranges are the Ultimate 6150, Ultimate 8150, JAMA 101 and JAMA 201.

Connect one of the Ultimate devices to a digital projector, desktop screen or TV for high resolution XGA Video Out. The Ultimate devices offer 1024 x 768 resolution so you can run a pretty good PowerPoint presentation right from your phone onto a digital projector without a laptop. Home users can use the same functionality to do things like view photos and video on a TV or make video call to see friends andfamily on the big screen.

The Ultimate phones are powered by Windows Mobile 6 and come in two different form factors with either a 2.8" or 2.6" VGA touch screen, QWERTY keyboard or phone keypad, 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM, Quad-Band GSM/EDGE, Tri-Band 3G UMTS/HSDPA, a 2.0 Megapixel-camera, FM Radio, WiFi 802.11b/g/e/i, Bluetooth v2.0, and a microSD card slot.

The JAMA device range is for entry level users but is also running Windows Mobile 6. One has a 2.4", the other 2.5" TFT LCDs, 128MB ROM, 64MB RAM, GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 MHz (no 3G), 2.0 Megapixel cameras, Bluetooth v1.2 connectivity and a microSD card slot.

For business users: i-Q Professional is meant for IT administrators, system integrators and resellers so they can better manage and secure a fleet of mobile devices. A customised build can be specified for multiple devices to ensure consistency of user experience and compliance with business policies. i-mate devices in field can be better managed with the ability to remotely trouble shoot, change device settings, and push down software applications and updates.

To set up your i-mate, Custom i-Q can be used to completely customise the device with all your settings and preferences installed over the air so you just power up and go. You simply power up your i-mate, enter your user name and password, and your personalised settings will be automatically downloaded to the device over-the-air. This is great for a business setting and when next you upgrade your device.

The i-mate Secure i-Q solution allows you to remotely lock down the device, and/or wipe out any personal data in the event that it is lost or stolen. This even includes any information stored on an SD card. With one mobile device being lost/stolen every 3 minutes in Australia, according to the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association, i-mate expects this service to be very well received. It is a a web based product and therefore does not require any specific hardware or software, just an active Internet connection.

Finally, support i-Q is i-mate's premium, worldwide 24/7 x 365 day support with live chat and local service centres worldwide.  i-mate also offer a 24x7 support line for all customers in Australia, all for the cost of a local call.

The Ultimate and JAMA range will be available through authorised distributors and retailers from early 2008.  The JAMA 101 and JAMA 201 will be available at a suggested retail price of $490 and the Ultimate 6150 and 8150 will be available at a suggested retail price of $1079.
