ETT Limited has appointed two new Executive
Directors kicking off its marketing for services supplied by the new national provider of
IPSTAR satellite broadband services in Australia.
Pitched as an alternative to landline rather than as a mobile service ETT
raised A$6.6 million in December 2007 through a
fully underwritten rights issue to shareholders and is now
positioning itself to offer alternate IP communications and transaction
services in throughout Australia - the focus however is on the
provision of IPSTAR satellite broadband in regional areas.
The company's agreement with IPSTAR Australia came into
effect on 1 January 2008 and gives ETT exclusive National Service Operator (NSO) status for broadband satellite
services. ETT has acquired IPSTAR's existing 25,000
Australian customers and is planning to rapidly grow its customer
base throughout Australia.
As it ramps up the company has announced the appointment of two Executive Directors, Larry Shutes
and Gordon Tudor, who will be responsible for the implementation
of the business plan to deliver a premium quality satellite broadband
service to the Australian marketplace. The company's focus will
initially be regional Australia as it starts its first month of
operation.
Shutes has worked closely with the ETT Board to structure and
finalise the Definitive Agreement (DA) with IPSTAR's parent
company, Shin Satellite and he was instrumental in procuring the
company's recent fund raising.
"Over
the past 18 months we've been working towards making ETT a provider
of cost effective, unlimited broadband to customers right across
Australia. Having the IPSTAR agreement go live is a big step towards
us reaching this goal," said Shutes. "Appointing Tudor is
another key step, securing for ETT his expertise in this field."
Gordon Tudor has more than 20 years experience as a senior executive and has
previously worked extensively with the IPSTAR platform as a director
of satellite service provider Australian Private Networks (APN). This
knowledge will be central to his pivotal role at ETT overseeing
provision of a premium broadband service to clients throughout
regional and metropolitan Australia.
