Bluetooth device maker Plantronics has come up with a lightweight solution to the music phone dilemma. The Voyager 855 headset is a convertible that lets you choose between single ear mono operation if you are using the phone to make calls, but gives you access to animmersive stereo headphone experience if you are playing music.
The Bluetooth headset has AudioIQ DSP noise reduction
technology and supports the stereo A2DP functionality. At 15 grams
claims to be the lightest stereo headset available on the market.
The
standard looking headset has an detachable stereo cable with an earbud
to convert it from either mono or stereo use. The form-fitting earbuds
fit snugly and securely to seal out unwanted background distractions
offering clear wireless stereo sound when listening to digital music or
complete binaural immersion in conversations.
The headset has
Plantronics' AudioIQ technology which uses adaptive digital signal
processing (DSP) to automatically reduce background noise and
intelligently adjust audio levels to increase clarity on both ends of a
conversation.
"The Voyager 855's stereo cable and
fitted earbuds essentially replaces that ‘finger in the ear' we all use
to block out distracting background commotion," said Graeme Gherbaz,
Managing Director, Plantronics Australia and New Zealand.
"Consumers
are in and out of noisy, busy surroundings while trying to conduct
calls, listen to voicemail or enjoy a song," added Gherbaz. "Whether
you're using your phone from a coffeehouse or the back of a taxi, you
want to hear your audio as well as be heard clearly and intelligibly.
Plantronics delivers on that promise with a headset that adapts to your
surroundings and improves audio and call clarity."
The
slide-to-talk boom provides convenient call control and improved audio
performance. Opening the boom instantly connects the caller and slides
a voice tube into position that places the microphone closer to the
mouth for directional voice reception. Sliding the boom back ends the
call and resumes the music if you are playing any when the call comes
in.
Battery life is approximately seven hours talk
time, six hours listening time and 160 hours stand-by time from a
single battery charge.
The new Plantronics Voyager 855
stereo Bluetooth headset will retail for AUD $169.00 and is available
now at major national electronics retailers.
