HP Mini-Note To Reach Aus In May Print E-mail

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has said its newest ultra-mobile notebook, the HP HP 2133 Mini-Note will be released on Australian shores next month and has announced RRP pricing of A$899 for the new device.

The fully-functional notebook computer has a 8.9 inch screen and weighs in just just a shade over a kilo at 1.19kg. Despite being about the size of your average mouse-mat, the HP Mini-Note still manages a usable QWERTY keyboard, which which HP says is 92 per cent the size of a standard keyboard.

Depending on your needs you can select a configuration that puts the Mini-Note clearly into the work space by putting Windows Vista Business on a standard hard disk drive with capacities running up to 120 GB. Alternatively you can choose the 4GB SSD (Solid State Drive) flash module with Linux.Other options to follow will be Home Basic, FreeDOS and SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop.

Business professionals are balancing increasingly hectic schedules, and the average working day doesn't necessarily end when we leave the office," said Jerel Chong, Market Development Manager, Notebook PCs, HP Australia. "By offering a small, affordable and fully-functional device like the HP Mini-Note, we are arming mobile professionals with the ability to make the most of their time at work, whether that be on the road, in meetings, or at home."

The HP Mini-Note features a sleek exterior, a scratch-resistant display and a tamper-proof case, with no visible screws for enhanced durability, while HP's 3D DriveGuard is included to ensure hard drive data protection during daily travel and use.

You can use the HP Mini-Note to view video, for still-image capture, web conferencing, or video-enhanced instant messaging with no additional hardware. There is an optional integrated VGA WebCam enables video and still-image capture which allows for the addition of photos and video clips to presentations, documents and email.

The HP Mini-Note includes wireless technologies such as optional integrated Wi-Fi Certified WLAN and Bluetooth, allowing users to access the Internet, to work within their company's servers, as well as communicate via email or IM. The wireless technologies also enable connections at hotspots as well as Bluetooth integration with external devices including printers, mice and headsets.

The RRP of $899 (inc. GST) is the starting price for the HP 2133 Mini-Note with Genuine Windows Vista Business.
