palmOne has delivered a slight upgrade to its successful Tungsten E handheld adding Bluetooth and memory along with a better screen. Battery life is also said to have improved.
The company reports it has sold nearly 2 million of the E model in the last 17 months and will be looking to maintain this level of sales with the improvements.
With an estimated street price of US$249, the Tungsten E2 now has a brighter 320x320 colour display that imporves viewing for digital content such as photos and video. Flash on-board is now up to 32MB, 26MB of which is available for storage.
An integrated MP3 player and built-in speaker or stereo headphone capabilities can be boosted with additional memory via an SD Card.
On the software side, the Tungsten E2 comes with DataViz's Documents To for access to Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The device is also capable of displaying Adobe PDF files with a simple conversion step.
Based on the 200MHz Intel XScale processor, the device also accepts MultiMediaCard and SDIO cards.
