The JumpDrive Touchguard USB combines biometrics and on-board encryption to protect your data and passwords while on the go. The flash drive has an integrated biometric fingerprint sensor which authenticates the user's identity after which it provides access to secured files and password protected web sites.
The device stores and recognises up to 10 unique fingerprints so multiple users can share the device. It is also capable of storing and managing web favourites and up to 200 user names and passwords, so users can automatically login to most web sites with the swipe of a finger, eliminating the need to remember and enter usernames and passwords. The TouchGuard uses Fujitsu's compact MBF310 Sweep Sensorä combined with sophisticated algorithms for the biometrics and has an easy to use interface. Files are secured with built-in AES 256-bit encryption. Using the device is easy, once the initial authentication process is completed, the user's fingerprint, data and password are safely encrypted on the JumpDrive device. Even if the device is lost, the biometric login protects data and passwords from unauthorised access. The Lexar JumpDrive Touchguard comes in a capacity of 256MB and retails at $149.
The product was officially launched at the Photokina conference in Germany last year and has taken a little time to reach downunder.
