Push email outfit Visto will be holding its breath to see if its patents stand up to detailed inspection. Visto has accused BlackBerry-maker Research In Motion of infringing on four of its patents. Using the same tactic it used in the recent legal spat with NTP, RIM is now seeking to get the patents invalidated by the US Patent and Trademarks Office. RIM filed its countersuit just two days after Visto’s move, which came just after the latter won against 7 Networks which also provides a similar service. Visto already has Patent litigation going against Good Technology and Microsoft, while RIM finally settled with NTP for US$612.5 million.
