Designed to ease the corporate security and management concerns of corporate IT departments, i-mate has launched a suite a device and data management tools for its Windows Mobile-based devices.
“We will be offering the same service on a hosted model to SME and individual professionals,” says Jim Morrison, Chief Executive Officer of i-mate.
The service, which is priced at US$9.99 per month was develop in-house by i-mate to ease the pain of mobile device management.
It includes three modules: i-mate Control, i-mate 1-View and i-mate Backup.
i-mate Control allows enterprises to safeguard sensitive data, remotely configure or troubleshoot devices, automatically update all devices in the field wirelessly and remotely customise devices. It also features remote erase to issue that final self destruct command if the device is hopelessly lost or stolen.
i-mate 1-View allows users to access field stored on a secure server while they are out and about, removing the need to synchronise their devices. There are collaborative tools that assist with file sharing
i-mate Backup provides remote wireless data backup and restore including the ability to do incremental backups or to trigger a backup automatically when certain conditions are met, such as when high speed networking is possible..
