Cashed up after its successful float, wireless internet
provider BigAir has started growing inorganically announcing its iBurst customer
base just got larger by 800 customers.
BigAir has done a deal with T3 Wireless, a subsidiary of
Pacific Internet, which will see BigAir adopt all of its 800 iBurst customers.
This will expand its iBurst subscriber base by almost 10
percent, says the company and will add more than $600,000 in annualised
revenues.
The new customers will take BigAir's iBurst subscriber list
to around 8,500.
T3 Wireless will assist with the migration of its existing
iBurst retail channel distribution agreements across to BigAir.
The iBurst service delivers high speed mobile internet
access enabling customers to access their email and office network and to surf
the internet while away from the office or on the road.
"The customers we are acquiring are mostly professional
users with higher than average ARPU (average revenue per user) and higher than
average margins. We expect to see ongoing margin improvements as our customer
base continues to grow," said BigAir CEO, Jason Ashton.
"This acquisition also represents a significant
opportunity for expansion of BigAir's retail distribution channels which in
turn will help us to grow the BigAir brand and customer base," he said.
BigAir has seen demand for wireless broadband services
increase steadily over the last 12 months.
The growth in the demand for the
flexible mobile wireless iBurst product supports BigAir's belief that mobile
internet access will follow the lead of the mobile phone, where Australians now
have more mobile phone accounts than they do fixed line telephone accounts.
