The Nokia 6151 is a WCDMA (3G) phone with a 1.3 megapixel
camera which offers consumers an easy to use 3G model planned for launch in the
third quarter of 2006. The phone is pitched as Nokia's most affordable 3G
handset ever and is expected to retail around $400.
Available in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, the candy bar form factor is a compact package and
weighs 98 grams.
Talk time is listed by the manufacturer at up to 4.5 hours
on GSM networks (up to 3.5 hours of talk time via WCDMA 2100). The phone is not
only 3G capable it works with GSM/EDGE 900/1800/1900 networks. Standby time is
rated at up to 10 days.
The handset will be available in black, pearl white, orange,
light blue and lime green colour variants.
Nokia plans this phone to be a volume 3G phone for the
masses to assist in the widespread take-up of 3G. It introduces consumers to streaming
multimedia content, and music or video services at a price more akin to traditional
GSM phones.
The easy to use Series 40 user interface provides access to
the phone's 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth connectivity and music player with
micro SD memory card support.
User memory without the optional microSD memory card is just
30MB.
The video capable camera has a 4x zoom with landscape mode
and may be accessed by a dedicated camera button.
The phone supports push to talk and features a stereo FM
radio.
