The Nokia 6080 is expected to begin shipping in the fourth quarter of 2006, and is expected to retail for approximately AUD$300 (before taxes or subsidies).

The triband handset is in a candy bar form factor with a focus on messaging and camera operations with fast GSM data access.

Featuring what Nokia describes as an "affordable" price point, the phone is primarily targeted at volume consumers in Asia. It can be personalised with wallpapers, themes and even a Sudoku game which was especially designed for the Nokia 6080.

Available in black only with silver or gold colour highlights, the phone features a camera with video functionality and a large colour display with illuminated keypad. The phone is navigated via the familiar and intuitive Nokia Series 40 user interface.

With MP3 ring tones and an FM radio the retail package includes a stereo headset.

Messaging is important on this phone. It features a blinking light effect to indicate a missed call or a received message and provides easy access to MMS, Nokia Xpress audio messaging, email and push to talk.

The XHTML browser provides support for .2.5G information services using the EDGE data network to access news and upload images and videos.

Weighing in at 91 grams, the Nokia 6080 has a rated talk time of up to 3.5 hours and a standby time of up to 12 days.
