Available exclusively on the 3 network (this phone can't be
unlocked according to Three) the latest "entry level" 3G device from LG shows
just how far 3 phones have come in the past year.
The LGU300 features a dedicated TV button to give you
instant access to your mobile TV channels, but this phone is a music player,
camera and speaker phone all in one "lightweight" device.
Well they say it's lightweight, but we've tried to hunt down
the specs on this thing with little luck.
With the Orange version of
this phone just announced week in the UK,
3 Australia
is offering the grey and orange versions of this handset to Australian subscribers
already.
Of course the device supports video calling, so you get a
1.3 megapixel camera. It has a 180 degree swivel lens for taking photos inward
or outward.
A pair of LCD displays presumably carry out the normal functions
inside and notification on the outside.
The phone supports Stereo Bluetooth so you can lash out and
get a pair of wireless headphones to listen to the compressed music tracks. The
phone has only 10MB spare storage, but 3 is throwing in a 128MB Transflash
memory card to get you started.
The phone will act as a wireless broadband modem so you can attach
your laptop to connect to the Internet so long as you are in the 3G coverage
areas.
3 has priced the handset at $349 pre paid, but the phone is
available for $8 per month over 24 months on a $29 cap plan.
