Better Unwired Coverage In Melbourne

Users in 12 more Melbourne suburbs can now access Unwired's wireless broadband network as the company continues to build out its network in the southern capital. This doubles the coverage in Melbourne thanks to the addition of three new towers, one in Brighton East, another in Cheltenham and one in North Melbourne. This provides coverage for Brighton, Brighton East, Brighton North, Elsternwick, Cheltenham, Cheltenham East, Cheltenham North, Garden Vale, Ripponlea, Bentleigh, McKinnon, Ormond and parts of Braeside, Keysbourgh and Waterways. The new coverage adds an additional 104,000 homes to the initial Melbourne roll-out, which included towers in the CBD, South Yarra and South Melbourne. Unwired quotes a recent customer survey that indicates the top three reasons people choose Unwired are because it's easy to install, portable and doesn't require a phone line. Unwired CEO David Spence said "As phone line rental increases and more people move from fixed home phones to cheaper capped mobile phone plans, Unwired becomes the obvious internet choice. "With Unwired broadband and a mobile phone, customers have a complete communications solution that they can use wherever, whenever they like," Spence said. "With the impending introduction of Mobile WiMAX, we look forward to offering our customers' a seamless transition to full internet mobility - including national and international roaming," Spence said. Unwired's plans start from $15.95 a month for fast internet plans, $29.95 for broadband plans and $49.95 for its Wireless Card plans. Unwired's Wireless Desktop Modem costs $189.00 and its Wireless Card $299.
