If you loved the Motorola RAZR, lets face it who didn't, the new RAZR could be your next phone. Slimmer, lighter and if its possible, even more elegant the KRZR builds on the success of the RAZR.

Motorola has stuck to a familiar look and feel with this phone, "precision detailing" and a distinctive metallic gloss finish, the KRZR "exudes pure luxury" says its maker.moto_krzr

Thicker and longer than the RAZR, Motorola has sculptured this phone for smaller hands. The KRZR is still only 16mm thick and 103mm long but Motorola has taken a nearly 10mm off the width of the RAZR. At only 102 grams the KRZR is only two grams heavier than the RAZR.

All wrapped up in a grey or blue case made from magnesium, polished chrome and hardened glass the KRZR is available with either a 2 megapixel (K1) or 1.3 megapixel (K1m) camera. While the K1m sacrifices a little in camera megapixel's it adds GPS capabilities for location services.

The K1's 2MP camera has an 8x zoom and is capable of video capture. Playback and image editing take place within the phone. Video is MPEG-4 at 15 frames per second and you can record up to 25 minutes of on embedded memory.
Additional storage is by way of MicroSD card slot, of course.

Playback for music is supported with stereo Bluetooth headset support and Midi, MP3, AAC, AAC+ codecs.

Quad-band GSM is backed up with EDGE for high speed (but not super fast) data access.

The phone has predictive text, voice functionality (including voice commands, voice recognition, and voice memo), PIM functionality with Picture Caller ID on the enhanced phonebook which also has new contact fields for URL, IM, Postal Address, Birthday, and other information.

The phone is pre-loaded J2ME games, screen savers and features what Motorola calls Screen 3 technology for zero-click access to your favourite news, sports, and other premium content.

The MOTOKRZR is expected to be available in the second half of 2006.
