HP has added a new docking station to it's line-up and introduced a new SMB business notebook - the company's first business
notebook based on the AMD dual-core processor with 64-bit extensions. The 3-in-1 docking station distinguishes itself by incorporating built-in storage
for backup, recovery and file sharing.
The 3-in-1 Network Attached Storage (NAS) Docking Station works
with HP's business notebook PCs and is designed to offer small businesses a way
to create "an affordable workgroup environment".
"For a reasonable price, businesses with less than 10
employees can create a small workgroup environment with the HP 3-in-1 NAS
Docking Station," said Janet Bradburn, Market Development Manager,
Transactional Notebooks, Personal Systems Group, HP Australia.
The NAS Docking Station integrates a 160 GB SATA hard drive that is accessible
as a network drive for more secure and reliable data backup and recovery.
The solution incorporates HP Backup and Recovery Manager
software, while the NAS also supports file sharing with enhanced security via
an embedded NAS Configuration Utility.
The 3-in-1 NAS Docking Station also has print server capabilities with two
network USB ports in addition to the port replication, cable management,
enhanced security and expansion via MultiBay II and ExpressCard slots.
Pricing on the HP 3-in-1 NAS Docking Station is expected to
start at AUD$695.
The HP Compaq nx6325 notebook is designed primarily for
small and medium business buyers as a value solution not encumbered by low
processor power.
"More and more SMB customers in Australia are looking for
enterprise-class mobility solutions that can meet their rising need for
always-on computing and connectivity," said Bradburn.
The nx6325 uses the AMD Turion 64 X2 CPU with 64-bit extensions and ATIU
graphics. Priced at AUD$1,59 it has a fingerprint reader and optional Smart
Card Reader.
