Enteprise security solution provider, AppSense, is running a promotional campaign with Hutchison 3 to give business users an A$1,000 rebate when they team up a 3 NetConnect card buy with the AppSense Management Suite. The entry level to get the rebate is 10 of each, though the rebate increases by a further A$100 for each additional user. AppSense says the offer will be attractive to IT managers trying to safeguarding their networks while equipping their workers with mobile capabilities. AppSense Vice President of Sales, Australia and New Zealand, Sean Walsh says that giving mobile workers broadband wireless capabilities, needs to be balanced with the safeguards afforded by corporate firewalls and the controls applied to on-site desktops. "Now, with 3's mobile broadband plans and the AppSense Management Suite, we have an excellent solution for road warriors who want full access on the move, without compromising their corporate networks. The rebate of $1,000 or more is just the icing on the cake" said Walsh. The AppSense Management Suite is a fully integrated, enterprise-class software solution designed to simplify the IT department's management of desktops and servers. Users' desktops can be proactively managed to ensure unauthorised software is blocked. Because notebook users often take their corporate machines home to use in their personal time, they are often the worst culprits when it comes to downloading unauthorised programs - such as peer to peer applications. That can leave their hard drive full of hacking tools, spyware and other malware, that poses security threats to a corporate network. The AppSense Management Suite makes it easier for IT managers to apply the same strict policies across all users, whether office-based or those working remotely.
