Vodafone is the latest carrier offering BlackBerry Connect on
the Palm Treo 650 so you can enjoy push email on the go without giving up your
Treo.
The service is available to existing owners and comes with
the full push email and calendar synchronisation via BlackBerry Enterprise
Server.
There are two plans to choose from, a $29.95 Lite plan that
gives you 1MB of emails or the full monty deal of unlimited email service for $49.95.
The plans are added as a ‘bolt on' the Vodafone's capped business plans.
The addition of Vodafone means that BlackBerry Connect is now
available on three of the four major networks - Telstra, Optus and Vodafone.
"This reiterates Palm's commitment to providing
enterprise-strength mobile computing solutions to an ever-growing customer
base. With over 30,000 commercially available applications, and now with
connectivity to BlackBerry Enterprise Server, the Treo 650 has become an
essential tool for mobile professionals," said Paul Blinkhorn, vice-president
for Palm Asia Pacific
Vodafone also supports BlackBerry devices, of course, but
the addition of Treo 650 support offers users a better range of handheld
devices to get their email.
Norm Lo, Vice-President for Asia Pacific at RIM, said: "Companies around the world are
embracing the security, efficiency and robust management capabilities supported
by BlackBerry and enjoying the many personal productivity and organisational
workflow benefits enabled by BlackBerry mobile email. We are pleased to provide
BlackBerry Connect on the Treo 650 for Vodafone's customers in Australia."
The BlackBerry Connect on Treo 650 solution also supports
Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus Domino customers.
