3 Australia Gives Its Two Most Senior Execs To 3 UK |

Hutchison Telecommunications (Australia) operator of the Three 3G
network has lost its CFO and CEO within two weeks of each other with both key
executives accepting overseas postings at 3UK.
The company today announced that Chief Executive Officer
Kevin Russell will be take over as Deputy CEO of 3 UK in the New Year and will be replaced
locally by Sales, Marketing and Product Director Nigel Dews.
Back in Mid-October the company announced that Tim Finlayson
would take over the role of Chief Financial Officer following the departure of David
Dyson, who after four years with Hutchison in Australia,
transferred to the position of CFO for 3 UK.
It was an in-house promotion for Finlayson who has been with
the company for three years reporting to Dyson.
CEO Russell was appointed to launch the 3 network in Australia five years
ago under his guidance the company has signed 1 million 3G customers and hit the financial milestone of EBITDA positive .
Nigel Dews, his replacement joined as Director of Sales, Marketing and Product in 2003. Prior to 3 he led the Fairfax digital business for what must have been a tough six years. Prior to that Dews held senior consultancy roles at McKinsey & Company and even worked for the Reserve Bank of Australia.
"I have enjoyed working with Kevin immensely for the past
three years and it's a huge privilege to be leading the company next year,"
said Dews in a company statement.
Kevin Russell and Nigel Dews will commence their new roles
in January 2007.
