Today Motorola officially launched its MOTORAZR MAXX V6 for Telstra's
souped up HSDPA NEXT G network, but some new owners have had their phone since
last week. The price is $819 (RRP) from Telstra dealers.

The MOTORAZR MAXX V6 is basically an upgraded V3x, but what an
upgrade! Apart from supporting the faster download speeds (up to 3.6Mbps) in the
new network and EDGE/GPRS technology in the old, the handset itself has had a
work over.
The handset is described as impossibly thin.
At 104x53x15 the MAXX V6 is 4.8mm thinner than the VX3's
19.8mm and it's just a shade thicker than the original RAZR - though thelatest
V3i is a diminutive 13.7mm, the MAXXX V6 is big improvement for the previous 3G
handsets from Motorola. The handset weighs 105 grams which is not too shabby.
There is a small LCD (120 x 160 pixels) on the front and a
large 2.2-inch 256k colour LCD on the inside which has 240x320 pixels. Round
the outside of the phone are blue LED's which light up for incoming calls and
so on.
The internal video conferencing camera is VGA, while the
external is a 2.0 megapixel camera capable of capture a 1600 x 1200 pixel image
with a 8x digital zoom.
The integrated digital music player is supported by external,
touch-sensitive keys and in addition to the substantial 50MB internal storage
the removable microSD card slot supports up to 2GB.
The phone supports the following codec: AAC/WMA/eAAC+/AAC+/WAV/MP3/XMF
audio file formats; RealVideo/H.263/MPEG4/WMV video formats
The handset supports multiple bands including GSM 900/1800
and 1900MHz as wells as WCDMA at 850, 1900 and 2100MHz according to reports.
You can expect Bluetooth V2+EDR and USB 2.0 connections
Disclaimer: The information gfiven out by Motorola in
support of the Australian launch was a bit sketchy so I've nabbed this from other
announcements in other countries and the actual details of the Australian handset
should be checked before comiting to purchase this phone - though you will
probably have a little bit of a wait before you can get your hands on one
anyway.
Motorola directs you here to sign up
to get more info on the MAXX V6.
