The Australian Communications and Media Authority will hold its first annual conference on spectrum management, RadComms 2006, on 11 and 12 December at the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney.

‘This conference will focus on the future,' said Giles Tanner, General Manager of ACMA's Inputs to Industry Division.

‘We are starting to look at how the radiocommunications industry will be using spectrum in ten to twenty years' time. The conference will also allow spectrum users, current and prospective, to meet with ACMA to share ideas on how Australia's radiofrequency spectrum should be planned moving forward.'

Conference topics include digital radio, satellite spectrum planning issues, the ‘digital dividend' - television spectrum in the next decade - and municipal broadband wireless access.

Each day will end with a panel-style question and answer session. A cocktail reception will be held on the first night to provide a more casual networking opportunity.

A draft conference program and registration details are now available on the ACMA website.

Registrations close on 6 December unless places are filled beforehand.
