Spin, which launched free mobile broadband in Canberra in November has
announced a deal to offer free broadband downloads on the Gold Coast.
Spin launched its Canberra
deal about three weeks ago and true to its word is rolling out the offer to
other cities. The next lucky recipient is the Gold Coast which will now get free
iBurst broadband thanks to. Spin.
As with the Canberra
deal, Spin Internet offers 200Mb of free data per month on their iBurst subscriptions.
The Gold Coast was one of iBurst's first deployments and users there can connect
at up to 1Mbps.
Subscribers need to buy an iBurst modem and pay a pretty hefty set-up fee,
but after that, so long as they stay under the 200Mb data limit that's all they
will ever pay. Go over the limit and they'll be charged as 22 cents per MB.
It is going to cost
you A$259.95 plus a A$10 delivery fee for the USB modem and A$149.95 for the set up fee. Spin reserves the right to withdraw the free download/upload offer at any time.
