VeriSign to Deliver new Communications, Commerce and Content Services including Mobile Payment Solution and Identity Protection for Mobile Users
BT and VeriSign Allow Mobile Users to Access Games, Software, Ringtones, Videos and more!
PRESS RELEASE From 3GSM BARCELONA, February 12, 2007 - From technology that enables consumers to use their mobile phone to buy a sun hat on the way to the beach to the delivery of the latest entertainment over mobile and broadband connections, VeriSign, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRSN), the leading provider of digital infrastructure for the networked world, today announced it will be showcasing its communications portfolio at 3GSM World Congress, including digital content, mobile commerce and mobile security solutions designed for network operators, Internet portals, media companies and retail brands.
"Mobility continues to be of great interest to enterprises and
global brands, but many are still concerned about cost-efficient mobile
payment frameworks, scalable revenue-generating content delivery
platforms and end-to-end security," said Stratton Sclavos, Chief
Executive Officer and Chairman, VeriSign. "Our digital infrastructure
solutions allow our customers to launch new services quickly and
economically, with the intelligence, scale and security necessary to
deliver a compelling consumer experience."
3GSM attendees will find a vast array of demonstrations at VeriSign's booth (Hall 1, D59) including:
*
Digital Content - VeriSign will showcase a variety of digital content
services, allowing companies to deliver, manage and bill for dynamic
mobile content, across and between major operator networks. British
Telecom (BT) has implemented VeriSign (tm) Intelligent Portal Services
to deliver new mobile services to customers. Download services
include
games, software, ringtones, wallpapers, screensavers, video and other
personalized communications services. In addition, VeriSign will also
demonstrate its recently announced Intelligent Content Delivery Network
(CDN). By using the VeriSign(tm) Intelligent CDN, service providers,
media and entertainment companies can deliver high-quality
entertainment to consumers without the cost and complexity of managing
their own CDN infrastructure.
VeriSign will also offer a
hands-on demonstration of its Interactive Messaging Service. See
VeriSign's 10 wireless predictions for 2007 and cast a vote for your
top choice via text message or email. The voting technology is the same
technology VeriSign has implemented for top rated reality TV programs
and hit game shows on major broadcast networks including this past
weekend's Grammy Awards viewed by over a billion people across the
globe.
* Mobile Commerce - VeriSign
offers a comprehensive suite of mobile commerce solutions. At 3GSM,
VeriSign will demonstrate for the first time its end-to-end mobile
payment solution. The solution will enable consumers to make purchases
from a vending machine, feed parking meters, transfer funds between
savings and checking accounts and access, save and redeem coupons all
from mobile devices. VeriSign builds in the layered security necessary
for consumers, operators and retailers to feel confident about mobile
transactions.
* Mobile Security - Building on VeriSign's
security heritage, VeriSign will showcase its Secure Mobile Device
Management Service (SMDM) which allows operators, MVNOs and enterprises
to manage mobile phone security through over-the-air updates, remote
data sweep for lost or stolen devices and data back-up to replace
valuable information on new devices. VeriSign will also be showcasing
Motorola's MOTORAZR mobile phone enabling the VeriSign(tm) Identity
Protection (VIP) strong authentication soft token. VIP is a
comprehensive solution that provides
identity protection for consumers interacting online.
