Huawei Unveils World?s First HSUPA USB Modem and Music Optimized 3G Handset |

Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (”Huawei”), a leader in
providing next generation networks for telecommunications operators
around the world, today launched its latest customized terminals
for operators: the world’s first High-Speed Uplink Packet
Access (HSUPA) USB Modem, E270, and the stylish U120, a 3G handset
optimized for music lovers on the move. The devices were unveiled
at the 3GSM World Conference in Barcelona, Spain under the theme
“customization, partnership and value.”
Able to support up to 7.2Mbps High-Speed Downlink Packet Access
(HSDPA) and a HSUPA transmission rate of up to 2Mbps, the E270 is
engineered to deliver a rich array of data service applications to
business end-users that require seamless connectivity.
The stylish
U120 is positioned as an entry-level device that will help
operators drive further development of the 3G market by broadening
the appeal of 3G multimedia services and applications.
Designed
with music enthusiasts in mind, the U120 provides a strong value
proposition as it boasts many versatile features and capabilities
previously found only in high-end handsets. Huawei has helped
world-class operators such as Vodafone, Hutchison, Telefonica, SFR
and PCCW to expand their 3G services, and provides overall support
and services to global operators covering network infrastructure to
terminals.
In 2006, Huawei’s terminal global sales volume
exceeded 27 million units, recording a year-on-year increase of 100
percent in the past three consecutive years. “Huawei has

needs of operators worldwide,” commented Mr. Guo Ping,
president of Huawei Terminal Business Unit.
“These stylish
terminals provide them with the means to deliver specific services
to their customers which will in turn help them to increase their
Average Revenue Per Unit (ARPU).” Huawei terminals have been
