Huawei Tests Indoor Coverage solution with OPTIMUS

PRESS RELEASE From 3GSM World Congress: [Lisbon, Portugal – February 13th, 2007] Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd (”Huawei”), a leader in providing customized mobile network solutions for operators around the world, and OPTIMUS, one of the leading telecommunications companies in Portugal, today announced the launch of the trial project in Lisbon with Huawei’s indoor coverage solution – iDBS. Due to the increasingly significant role it has played in 3G communication, indoor coverage has attracted more attention from operators around the world. To respond to the requirements of customers, Huawei has promoted its next generation indoor coverage solution, iDBS, based on the available distributed base station solution. IDBS, the HSDPA enabled solution, can enhance the network capacity and improve the network performance, which can bring the better experience to indoor customers. The trial project, which will be carried out in a chosen building accessing OPTIMUS’ real network, will sufficiently test both the product features and networking capabilities of iDBS. The test will help OPTIMUS, which is one of the first worldwide operators concerning the indoor coverage, to deploy the indoor coverage and provide high quality service to their subscribers.
