Hypertag develops new technologies to maximise download
speeds for proximity marketing campaigns
PRESS RELEASE From 3GSM World Congress: Hypertag Launches New High-Traffic Bluetooth Technologies
Hypertag develops new technologies to maximise download speeds for
proximity marketing campaigns Proximity marketing technology
provider Hypertag (www.hypertag.com) today launches
a pair of technological innovations that promise to significantly
enhance the performance of Bluetooth proximity marketing in high
traffic environments. The company has released two developments of
their Bluetooth technology that will offer advertisers the
opportunity to increase consumer interactions with their brand.
These latest developments enable proximity marketing campaigns to
connect to more devices simultaneously while maintaining the
maximum download speeds; previously an issue for Bluetooth devices
in high footfall environments.
The announcement clearly underlines the company’s technology
leadership in the proximity marketing space and makes the Hypertag
solution by far the most technologically advanced on the market.
The two enhancements work on the way that Bluetooth connects with
remote devices. The first, Co-operative Channel Alignment (CCA),
works to ensure that devices don’t conflict on the same
Bluetooth channel and the second, Split Bluetooth MAC Address
(SBMA), enables multiple Bluetooth devices to work together
effectively for the first time.
By allowing devices to collaborate the two technologies mean
consumers can experience enhanced connection and download speed
compared to a standard Bluetooth proximity marketing implementation
providing increased positive interactions for advertisers.
Rachel Harker, co-founder of Hypertag, said: “Whilst great
creative and innovative campaign mechanics are essential to an
effective proximity marketing implementation, the technology that
backs these up is just as important. You can encourage a consumer
to interact with a poster, an installation or a field marketer but
if the experience they then receive is slow or unreliable,
you’ve done more damage than good.”
“Hypertag is always innovating to improve the consumer
experience and give our clients the best ROI”
ABOUT HYPERTAG
Hypertag (www.hypertag.com) is a proximity
marketing technology provider that enables brands to deliver rich,
interactive branded content to consumers based on their proximity
to a physical location. This allows brands to reach their target
audience at a specific time and place and puts their offer into a
direct and relevant context when a consumer is most receptive.
Using short-range mobile technologies such as Bluetooth and
infra-red, Hypertags can send content including videos, games,
music and vouchers direct to mobiles quickly and for free. By
simply activating the appropriate technology on their phones within
range of a Hypertag unit, consumers can receive content to their
handset.
Hypertags have been used by global brands such as Coca Cola, Ford,
Nokia, Vodafone and Nike in over 100 campaigns and in more than 15
countries, making it by far the most established proximity
marketing technology provider.
