The latest Acer notebook to reach Australian shores is a monster 17-inch desktop replacement device with a full-sized keyboard and numeric keypad. The Acer Aspire 9425WSMi houses the an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and the Microsoft Vista Home Premium operating
system making it a tempting notebook for the home or dorm, too.
The 17-inch widescreen cinema display uses Acer's CrystalBrite
technology to deliver clear, crisp images with what Acer says is superior colour tones
and exceptional contrast ratio. The display has a native resolution of
1440 x 900, which all gets filled by the on-board nVidia GeForce GO
7300 processor to deliver what Acer describes as "an intense viewing experience".
The Aspire 9425WSMi integrates a 1.3 Megapixel 225 degree adjustable webcam and microphone for video conferencing.
This provides users with the ability to take photos and conduct video
conferences, without having to plug in an external camera.
The latest Intel
chipset and processor delivers increased performance, improved battery life and
the flexibility to run multiple applications simultaneously with little impact
on performance.
The dual core chips also offer enhanced wireless technology to
increase signal reception, which when coupled with Acer's unique SignalUp
technology, delivers a performance boost of at least 25% better wireless
signal.
The 160GB disk and 2GB of
DDR2 SD-RAM is joined by a standard dual layer DVD Super Multi burner and 5-in-1 card reader
for users to access, store, manage, back up and share their multimedia
content.
