Page 1 of 5 Panasonic is the leading name in toughened notebooks having got into the gameearly on. There are other lesser known firms which specialise in creating fullmilitary spec notebook computers, but Panasonic sells plenty of laptops to the US military, as at least one US soldier that served in Iraq can well testify.
The Toughbook brand earned renown four years ago when one halted a stray bullet on its path towards a US soldier in Iraq. Here is a pic of the lappy.
You can see where it took the bullet. Messed it up pretty bad, but
while this particular unit may not have lived to see a new day, we have
no doubt the solider who owned it will ever consider another brand.
Panasonic has announced new models to its Toughbook range which
should start appearing this March. The new models are the fifth
incarnation since Panasonicintroduced its first laptop designed to US
military specifications more than a decade ago.
One of the most notable additions to the range is the introduciton
of a wireless display version - which excludes a hard drive and
connects wirelessly to anetwork hub.

Rather than the battlefield, the CF-08 Toughbook Wireless Display
is designedfor industries that require a high level of portability or
face to facecustomer interaction - industries such as retail food
service, healthcare,warehousing or manufacturing.
