Just for the record. Mobilised is not edited by an emeritus Professor of Religion, or a 24 year old college student.
Just your normal everyday wrinkled old tech journalist by the name of Adam Gosling, no pseudonim, no hidden PR people, just news.

Mobilised is not always right, but it is rarely wrong and the writing is certainly not left up to just anybody with a grudge or a hidden agenda to push.

Online encyclopedia Wikipedia has been hit by the bigget scandal in its history with the revelation that one of its estemed editors, Essjay, who was responsible for making changes to some 20,000 pages, is not a Tenured Professor of Religion at a Private University as he claimed, but is just a very naughty boy.

This article from the New York Times is a cautionary tale for all those who have forgotten, or are too young to have heard the old adage... "On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog".

The young boy's deception (I've been writing about technology since before he started school) only came to light when The New Yorker published a suprise disclaimer regarding a story in which it had been duped by the 'Professors' ficitious personae.

In the retraction the editor of The New Yorker said that at the time of writing: “neither we nor Wikipedia knew Essjay’s real name.”
