The 13th Annual AIMIA Awards have handed 3 mobile the "Best Interactive Service on a Wireless Network Award" for Planet 3 Sport following its coverage of this summer's cricket text series and the FIFA World Cup.
The Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA) awards acknowledged the Sports channel over all not just the coverage of these major events in 2006. In all the Sport content on Planet 3 was accessed over 10.8 million times last year.
Cricket fans used more than 2 million cricket services during the 3 mobile Ashes Series. Alongside cricket, over 900,000 FIFA World Cup events were experienced including access to SBS's live coverage and the official FIFA highlights.
