TravelMate 6592
Based on the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors in combination with processor integrated virtualisation, advanced manageability standards (AMT 2.5) and Intel's new Wireless IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n module, the Acer TravelMate 6592 is a fully equipped Intel "Centrino PRO" platform.
The 6592 has a modular bay for DVD, a second battery or second hard disk. The 15.4" display is managed by the ATI Mobility Radeon X2300-HD graphics card with up to 896MB of HyperMemory (128MB of dedicated VRAM).
The TravelMate 6592 has the Trusted Platform Module solution which supports Acer eDataSecurity Management, fingerprint reader, Pre-Boot Authentication, PlatinumSecret suite and Smartcard support. As this is a desktop replacement device, the ezDockII docking solution is also supported.

The 6492 notebook is also based on the new Centrino PRO platform
with the Core 2 Duo processors and a 14" display. In this case the
screen is driven with a Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
graphics chip.
The dual-channel DDR2 memory ensures increased reliability and productivity, while the Serial ATA Hard Disk Drive provides 160GB of storage capacity. The TravelMate 6492 can plug into thw Acer ezDock II/II+.
The 6492 also has 802.11 a/b/g/n and has a built-in Bluetooth 2.0
module. Wired connectivity is by way of Gigabit Ethernet, there's even
a modem built-in, though we can't see what use that might be to anybody
these days.
